Abstract

Objective: To explore the preventive measure of recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) injury during thyroid operation. Methods: The clinical data of 322 cases of thyroid surgery were analyzed retrospectively. Results: Temporary injury of RLN occurred in 6 cases after operation. Conclusion: Correct identification of anatomic structure and variant, perfect performance and the exact choice of exposure of RLN would provide the key to prevent the RLN injury in thyroid surgery.
