Abstract

Objective To investigate cellular immunity and function of liver and kidney effect of different nutrition methods in surgical elder patients with gastric cancer. Methods Seventy-six elder patients with gastric cancer surgical patients were randomly divided into early enteral nutrition (EEN) group and parenteral nutrition (PN) group. The patients in EEN group received supportan early enteral nutrition from postoperative day 1 to postoperative day 7. The patients in PN group received total parental nutrition. CD3+,CD4+,CD8+,CD4+/CD8+ were detected on the day before the operaon and the postoperative day 1 and 8. Results As compared with the day before the operation, postoperative day 1,all the levels of CD3+,CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ in two groups were decreased. However, postoperative day 8,the changes in the EEN group were significantly different from PN group (P0.05). No significant differences existed between these two groups in UCB,CB,ALT,AST,CREAT,BUN before operation and on the 1,8 day postoperatively (P0.05). In both EEN group and PN group there were no serious complications. Conclusion Compared with the parenteral nutrition, early enteral nutrition can improve obviously cellular immunity function in gastric cancer surgical patients, there were no significant differences on effect of function of liver and kidney in two nutrition methods.
