Three line tension relaxing correction for deviation of nasal septum

Objective:To explore the clinical therapeutic effects of three lines tension relaxing correction for deviation of nasal septum.Methods:Three lines tension relaxing correction were performed on 56 patients with deviation of nasal septum.First cut a Killian incision at the junction of the skin and mucous membranes on the left side of the nasal septum under endoscopy,then separated the nasal septum cartilage from the angle formed by two greater alar cartilages,perpendicular plate of the ethmoid bone,and the junction of vomer and maxilla at the nasal crest,this procedure was applied to correct deviation of nasal septum by decompression,which was named three lines tension relaxing correction.Results:The procedure were successful on all 56 cases,incisions were at stageⅠhealing,and the nasal septum were corrected to be straight.According to follow up ranging from 6-18 months,all cases showed good nasal ventilation,symptoms of stuffy nose,bleeding nose,headache,headache,dizziness and tinnitus,etc were greatly improved,no complications of nasal septum hematoma,perforation,bleeding,nasal deformity,nasal septum swing or cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea was observed.Conclusions:With advantages of less invasion and fewer complications,three line tension relaxing correction is consistent with the biomechanical characters of nasal septum deviation,and make it possible to keep the main nasal structure.
