Abstract
Objective To investigate the correlation between serum uric acid levels in patients with acute cerebral infarction and prognosis.Method 129 cases of acute cerebral infarction and 120 healthy people were detected and compared for their serum uric acid levels and related indicators, and the correlation were analyzed.Result The abnormal rate and levels of serum uric acid in patients with acute cerebral infarction were significantly higher than those in control group and the differences were significant(P0.01).In patients with acute cerebral infarction, the group with abnormal serum uric acid had significantly higher incidence rates of hypertension, high blood sugar, high blood lipids and hyperfibrinogenemia than the normal group. The extent of neurological impairment in abnormal serum uric acid group,21 days after admission, was significantly different with that in normal group(P0.01).Conclusion Serum uric acid level is closely related to the pathogenesis of acute cerebral infarction and can be used as a predictor of poor prognosis.
