Abstract

Cao Zhi was adept at the poem with five characters. With great many excellent works, he helped to establish its status in the field of poem. He was good at expressing emotion and, with his skillful lyric technique, helped to end the swaying situation between lyric and narration in Chinese poem. Through his luxurious diction, he changed the style of Chinese poem from simplicity to exuberance.These three contributions helped establish Cao Zhi's eminent status in his time.
