On Pedagogy Being a Science of Studying Educational Phenomenon

Since the establishment of modern pedagogy,educational phenomenon has always been regarded as the researching object of pedagogy. Observing the pedagogical history,being influnced by different philosophical ontology,pedagogy has different understandings of its own researching object,educational phenomenon . In modern times,pedagogical researchers stood from different positions,such as nature science,linguistic philosophy,social science and human science,thereby generating experimental pedagogy,cultural pedagogy,critical pedagogy,speculative pedagogy and other theoretical schools of different orientation. The contemporary researchers challenge takingeducational phenomenonfor pedagogical researching object and advocate taking educational problemfor their own researching This argument confuses the essential differentiation between problemand problem's object. Pedagogy is a science of studying phenomenon,which in this context means that the essence of phenomenon should be understood from humanities standpoint on the basis of the reflection of foregoing position,there by having its methodology established accordingly so that pedagogical theories are not only of sufficient explanatory power,but also of some capability of providing normative guidance for practice.
