Abstract

Contemporary in China mainly includes three big aesthetic theoretical schools, namely old- practice aesthetics, new-practice aesthetics and post-practice aesthetics that have formed gradually since 1980s in the aesthetic arguments. Essentially, the dispute of the contemporary of a grand and spectacular scale is only one about the philosophic basis of the different aesthetic schools. The assignment of this article is pointing out this fact, and analyzing the limitations of the philosophic foundations of each aesthetic school in a hope to provide some reference for present dilemma of study in China.
