Abstract

The genetic diversity of 77 maize P1811 relatives were studied by simple sequence repeats(SSR) markers to know the genetic relationship of self-bred line P1811.The results showed that 222 alleles were detected from the 25 SSR primers giving stable amplified band patterns. The average number of alleles per SSR locus were 8.88 with a range of 4~16.The value of polymorphism information content(PIC) for each SSR locus varied from 0.615 7 to 0.938 1with an average of 0.87.The 77 maize P1811 relatives were divided into seven groups by UPGMA method based on SSR fingerprinting. The clustered results were similar to that based on geographical resource and germplasm genealogy. The 77 maize P1811 relatives had certain genetic differences, but the total hereditary basis was relatively narrow.
