Study on Effect of Pingchuan Soup Combined with Western Medicine in Treating Bronchial Asthma

Objective To investigate the effect and safty of Pingchuan Soup combined with Western medicine in treating bronchial asthma. Methods 84 cases with bronchial asthma in our hospital from January 2008 to January 2009 were divided into the treatment group and the control group. Both groups were given the conventional therapy of western medicine,and the treatment group received the treatment of Pingchuan Soup to The treatment effect was observed. Results The levels of FEV1,FEV1/FVC and V50 before and after the treatment were significantly different (P 0.05) in both groups separately,the levels of V50 after treatment in treament group were superior to those in control group,and there was significant difference between them (P 0.05). The total effective rate was 92.86% in the treatment group and 71.43% in the control group,and there was significant difference between them (P 0.05). During the treatment,there were 2 cases with nausea in treatment group,in 2 cases there was one case with vomiting,which was relieved without special treatment. Conclusion The effect of Pingchuan Soup combined with Western medicine in treating bronchial asthm is superior to simple Western medicine,which is safe and worth of clinical application.
