Abstract
AIM To investigate the clinical significance of serum soluble CD40L(sCD40L) changes in patients with different types of coronary heart diseases.METHODS Twenty-five normal subjects made up the control group and 75 patients,including 25 with stable angina pectoris(SA),29 with unstable angina pectoris(UA) and 21 with acute myocardial infarct(AMI) were enrolled in this study.The serum sCD40L levels were measured by ELISA.RESULTS ①sCD40L levels were significantly higher in patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS);②The serum sCD40L levels in UA patients and AMI patients were higher compared with those with SA and those in control group(P0.01),with no significant difference between AMI and UA and between SA and control group; ③The serum sCD40L was significantly higher when SA deteriorated to UA.CONCLUSION The increasing levels of sCD40L may play an important role in ACS,which can be used as a potential marker of plaque instability.
