Abstract

A Reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography method(HPLC) has been developed for the simultaneous determination of imidacloprid and acetamiprid residues in fruits and vegetables such as tomato, cucumber, and orange. The retention behaviors of imidacloprid and acetamiprid on the ENVI-Florisil were investigated. It has been found that the average recoveries in samples are 85.8%~102%;the relative standard deviation are 2.73%~8.67% and the limit of determination is 0.009 mg/kg.The imidacloprid and acetamiprid residues were extracted from the sample with acetonitrile, and then were cleaned up with a SPE tube. The target was separated in HPLC with a DAD detector, external standard method to quantify. There is a good linear correlation between the peak areas and concentration of imidacloprid or acetamiprid in the range of 0.02~0.4 mg/kg with the calibration coefficient is above 0.9996.
