Abstract

Objective: To study the relationship between the expression of breast cancer metastasis-suppressor 1 (BRMS1) mRNA and the metastasis of lymph node with gastric carcinoma. Methods: According to the metastasis of lymph node, 66 cases were divided into metastasis of lymph node group (n=46) and no metastasis of lymph node group (n=20). The expression of BRMS1 mRNA was determined by Semi-RT-PCR method (with reference β-actin). Results: The expression of BRMS1 mRNA was 0.441±0.096 in gastric neoplasms, and it was 0.405±0.072 and 0.525±0.091 respectively in metastasis of lymph node and no metastasis of lymph node. It was significantly lowered in metastasis group (P0.05). Conclusion: There was a negative relationship between the expression of BRMS1 mRNA and the metastasis of lymph node in gastric neoplasms, but was not correlated with the pathological type or split up degree.
