Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of p53 and nm23 in gastric cancer patients and its correlation with lymph node metastasis. Methods S-P immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of p53 and nm23 in 100 gastric cancer patients after surgical treatment. Results The expression rate of p53 and nm23 in 100 cases were 61% and 60% respectively.A significant correlation was found between p53 overexpression and the lymph node metastasis(P0.01).A significant correlation was found between low-expression of nm23 and the depth of cancer invasion and the lymph node metastasis(P0.01).The p53 overexpression and nm23 Low-expression to the lymph node metastasis might be jointly acted. Conclusion The combined detection of expression of p53 protein and nm23 can probably be used as a indicator for predicting lymphatic metastasis of gastric cancer.
