Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To understand the utilization of antibiotics in pediatric department of our hospital,and to provide reference for rational use of antibiotics in the clinic.METHODS:859 pieces of prescriptions were randomly collected from pediatric outpatient department of our hospital during Jan.1st,2010~Jun.28th,2010.The number of antibiotic prescriptions,its percentage and combination therapy were analyzed.Those prescriptions were divided into 5 groups according to the age of children.RESULTS:Among 859 pieces of prescriptions,611 prescriptions involved antibiotics.According to the cases number in descending order,there were 345 cases of penicillin,325 cases of cephalosporins,238 cases of other antibiotics,10 cases of macrocyclics,2 cases of aminoglycoside.CONCLUSION:The utilization of antibiotics in pediatric outpatient department is reasonable.But there are some problems,mainly including medication on practical experience,pertinent medication,no indication of drug use and unreasonable drug combination,etc.
