Abstract

To observe the clinical efficacy of large dose of puerarin injection in the treatment of congestive heart failure (CHF),90 subjects were randomized into three groups:group A in which puerarin injection was intravenously given, group B in which puerarin injection plus potassium magnesium aspartate was given, and group C in which ordinary dosage of digaxin was given, all for a half month. Results:The total effective rates were 80%,90% and 86.6% respectively in groups A,B and C,with differences between groups C and A (P0.05) and between groups B and A (P0.01);the clinical symptoms and electrocardiogram were improved most in group B;however, the blood lipid changed little in all three groups. It is indicated that puerarin injection plus potassium magnesium aspartate is quite effective for congestive heart failure.
