Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical and treatment effects of anterior residual root or crown in the orthodontic treatment.Method A total of 18 cases orthodontic patients, who had upper and lower anterior residual root or crown, were taken the X-ray film to find out the periapical pathological changes. After the regular root canal therapy, the standby root was used as the post-core and the corresponding bracket was welded on the surface of the cap of post-core,then carrying out the orthodontic treatment as scheduled. After completing the treatment, the bracket was removed, the regular porcelain crown repair was performed and the maintainer was modeled, produced and worn after the adhesion.Result After completing the orthodontic treatment, the residual root had no obvious absorption, loosening degree I Degree(meet the requirements for orthodontic treatment). The periapical pathological changes had not become worse or recurred. The root could bite normally after the repairing of false tooth. Conclusion The teeth after the qualified root canal therapy are not needed to avoid the orthodontic treatment. The successful root canal therapy has no influence on the moving of orthodontic teeth and the residual root or crown could be rebuilt and stabilized with the movement of orthodontic force.
