Abstract

The period from Tang dynasty to Song Dynasty witnessed rapid social changes. However, it was not so obvious in the early period of Tang Dynasty. This paper clarifies a village in North China of that time by analyzing Buddhism towers erected for the repose of a perished person's spirit, control and maintenance of water irrigation facilities, and geographical and economic location.
