Clinical observation on Tanreqing injection(痰热清注射液) in treatment of acute respiratory tract infections in children

Abstract

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Tanreqing injection(痰热清注射液) on acute respiratory tract infections(ARTI) in children. Methods: Seventy children with ARTI were randomly divided into Tanreqing group and bisolvon group. The changes on fever, cough, sputum volume, extent of expectoration and tongue fur of the two groups were observed. Results: The temperature was bring down, cough mitigated , sputum volume reduced, extent of expectoration alleviated and red tongue with yellow fur improved obviously after the treatment with Tanreqing injection for 3 days. The symptom scores were gradually decreased along with the prolongation of time in both groups(all P 0 05). The total improvement rate of clinical symptoms was 93 73% and the total effective rate was 85 71% after 7 days in Tanreqing group, being superior to those of the bisolvon group(76 56% and 62 86%, P 0 01 and P 0 05). Conclusion: Tanreqing injection is safe and effective in relieving fever, stopping cough and removing phlegm.
