Abstract
Objective To study the hepatoprotective effects of a polyphenols-enriched extract from Keemun black tea(KBTP)against CCl4-induced liver injury in mice. Methods The levels of ALT,AST,ALP,MDA,GSH-Px and SOD in plasma were determined to evaluate the protective effect of KBTP on the liver injury in mice induced by CCl4.And HE staining analysis was carried out on the liver tissue of mice to evaluate the protective effect of KBTP.Results Compared with model group,KBTP significantly reduced the impact of CCl4toxicity on the serum ALT,AST,and ALP enzyme of liver damage, and prevented the increase in hepatic MDA levels(P0.05).After administration of KBTP,the antioxidant levels of hepatic GSH-Px and SOD were markedly elevated. In addition, liver pathological observation also confirmed the protective effects of KMTP on CCl4-caused histological alteration in mice. Conclusion KBTP had significantly protective effects against CCl4-induced liver injury in mice.
