Abstract
Objective To study the hepatoprotective effect of peptide S 8300 from shark liver on CCl 4 induced liver injury in mice. Methods Mice were administered ip with three doses of S 8300 for four consecutive days, followed by CCl 4 ip on d3. The activity of SGPT, SGOT, LDH, and liver SOD as well as contents of MDA and GSH in the mice liver were tested. Results S 8300 can decrease obviously the levels of SGPT, SGOT, LDH activities and liver MDA content in liver injury mice caused by CCl 4 , increase SOD activities and the content of GSH of the liver. Conclusion S 8300 has significant protective effects on experimental liver injury mice.
