Abstract
Objective: To develop blending silicone elastomer with high Shore hardness, which fit especial facial prosthesis. Method: The base of SY-1 and B silicone elastomer was mixed at different mass ratio, and added proper quantity of mixed cross-linking agent and catalyst to base, then Shore hardness of the vulcanized specimens was measured and three mass ratios of these specimens whose Shore hardness was nearest to 26?28?30 were identified. Result: When the mass ratio of SY-1 and B silicone elastomer was 82:18?79:21?76:24 respectively, the hardness of vulcanized specimens was 26.1±3.2?28.0±2.9?30.1±3.5. Conclusion: Blending SY-1 and B silicone elastomer at proper mass ratio could obtain compound silicone elastomer with high hardness, which would fulfill the demands of restoration of different facial defect.
