Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effect of high dose ambroxol on the lung function of patients with acute respiratory distresssyndrome(ARDS).Methods:60 patients with ARDS were enrolled in the study. They were divided randomly into 3 groups.Patients in group A were treated with low dose ambroxol(2 mg/kg)+0.9%NaCl(500 ml),patients in group B received high dose ambroxol(15 mg/kg)+0.9%NaCl(500 ml),others in group C were treated with 0.9%NaCl(500 ml) alone, for 7 consecutive days. The arterial blood samples were taken for blood gas and the parameters of respiratory mechanics were recorded before ambroxol infusion.Outcome of patients in both groups including various pulmonary function indices was analyzed. Results:The blood gas indexes of the patients in group A and group B were better than group C(P0.05),the blood gas indexes of the patients in group B were better than group A(P0.05).Conclusion:Ambroxol can enhance the pulmonary function in patients with ARDS.The effect of high dose ambroxol on the lung function of patients with ARDS is better than low dose.
