Association of high-sensitivity C-reaction protein and serum uric acid with prehypertension

Objective:To study the relationship between Uric acid and C-reactive protein in the patients with High-normal blood pressure values and to explore its clinical significance. Method:Of all 184 patients,124 patients are with High-normal blood pressure values. According to blood pressure,they were divided into 3 groups:the higher group (130-139/85-89 mmHg) has 65 patients; the lower group (120-129/80-84 mmHg) has 59 patients; the normal group has 60 patients,and the Uric acid and C-reactive protein were measured respectively.Results:The Uric acid's and C-reactive protein's value of lower pressure group were obviously higher than the normal group (P0.05,P0.01); Uric acid's and C-reactive protein's value of higher group were obviously higher than the lower group. The Uric acid was related to the raise of C-reactive protein's value and it is more obvious in the higher group than in the lower group. They have no relationship when blood pressure is normal.Conclusion:Uric acid and C-reactive protein are the dangerous elements to high blood pressure and their interaction can make the high blood pressure patients more sever.
