Relationship Between Self Congruence and Parental Rearing Style of College Students

Abstract
Objective To explore relationship between self congruence and parental rearing style of college students,and to provide psychological reference for college students' mental health education.Methods By using EMBU and self consistency and congruence scale(SCCS),116 college students from a university in Anhui were tested individually.Data was analyzed by correlation and regression statistical methods.Results Self congruence had significant correlation with parental rearing style among college students.Further regression analysis indicated that father' s severe punishment,mother' s affectional warm and understanding and mother' s favoritism had significant predictive ability to self congruence level.Conclusion Parental rearing style can forecast college students' self congruence to some extent.
