Abstract
Objective To investigate the interaction of lactobacillus acidophilus ATCC4356 with streptococcus mutans Methods Study coaggregation of this two bacterias in vitro by co-culture and influence factors of concentration、pH 、sugar substitutes 、saliva、calcium on it.Results It indicated that lactobacillus acidophilus ATCC4356 can coaggregate with streptococcus mutans in the presence of different sugar substitutes and wide pH range in saliva, but it is calcium-dependent.Conclusion It is reasonable to speculate that in oral microenvionment coaggregation of lactobacillus acidophilus with streptococcus mutans may reduce caries risk by clearing streptococcus mutans basing on this result. It may apply useful informations for prevention of caries.
