Abstract

Objective To compare the clinical effect on the facial hyperplastic scar treated by dermabrasion and by applying Silica Gel and Asiaticoside separately after dermabrasion. Methods All patients in our study were treated by dermabrasion and then applied with Mupirocin Ointment.A total of 101 cases were randomly divided into three groups as follows: Group A as control group,Group B and Group C was applied with Silica Gel and Asiaticoside separately at the 5th day after dermabrasion until the eighth week. The incidence of erythema and pigmentation, the integration evaluation of scar severity before and after treatment was observed. Results Comparing with control group, the incidence of both erythema and pigmentation of Group C was lower. The incidence of pigmentation of Group C was lower than Group B.The therapeutic effect on hyperplastic scar of both Group B and Group C was superior to control group, however, there was no significant difference between Group B and Group C.Conclusion The effect of dermabrasion combined with applying Silica Gel and Asiaticoside on the facial hyperplastic scar was definite, and Asiaticoside can be used to improve patients' complexion.
