Expression and significance of Livin in gastric carcinoma

Abstract

Objective To investigate the expression of livin protein in gastric carcinoma and its clinical significance.Methods The expression levels of livinm RNA in gastric cancer tissue were detected by themethod of reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).Results The positive rate of livin expression in 20 gastric cancer cases was 55.00%,while no or little livin expression was detected in corresponding para-cancerous tissues.Conclusion The two livin isoforms are expressed in gastric cancer tissues.As molecula rmarker of gastric cancer,livin may be a new target of therapy for gastric cancer.
