Abstract

[Objective]The purpose was to study the content and distribution of total phenols in lotus roots of different varieties.[Method]With lotus roots of E’lian series as materials, the contents of total phenols were determined by spectrophotometric method and their content distributions were analyzed.[Result]The content of total phenols in lotus leaf was obviously higher than that in other parts and the content sequence of total phenols in different parts of lotus was lotus leaf lotus flower lotus petiole petiolus subterraneous stem. The content of total phenols in lotus leaf was about 12 times of that in subterraneous stem. The contents of total phenols in lotus leaves of 12 varieties had significant difference and that in lotus petiole petiolus had no significant difference. The contents of total phenols in flower buds of 4 varieties had no significant difference. The contents of total phenols in nodus rhizomatis loti was obviously higher than that in other parts of lotus root and the content sequence of total phenols in different parts of lotus root was nodus rhizomatis loti tails of lotus roots heads of lotus roots middle part of lotus root. The contents of total phenols in lotus roots of Elian No.1,No.2,No.3,No.4 and No.5 had significant difference and that in different parts of same variety had significant difference.[Conclusion]This study provided theoretical foundation for exploitation of lotus roots resources.
