Abstract

The distribution of flavone in lotus from Hubei was studied. The results showed that the contents in different parts of lotus were varied, and the obvious higher flavone in leaf was observed, which was 5~8 times higher than that in the stem and 40~50 times than that in root. The order of flavone contents in various parts was as follows:leafflowerstem root.On the other hand,no obvious different flavone content in various lotus leaves was found, but the content in leaf was closely related with the size of leaf. The highest and lowest flavone contents in middling and small leaves were found. There was no significant correlation between flavone content and size of lotus stem, varieties of lotus. In a lotus stem, the flavone in the joint was higher than other parts, and the order in stem was as follows:jointtail partmiddle parthead part.
