Analysis of the Use of Chinese Patent Medicines in Outpatients from 2004 to 2008 in Liutie Central Hospital

Objective To investigate the status of the use of Chinese patent medicines in outpatients in our hospital in order to guide the rational use of Chinese patent medicines.Methods The data about the consumption of Chinese patent medicines in our hospital during the period of 2004～2008 obtained from medical information platform were analyzed.The use of proprietary Chinese medicines,the amount of DDDs and the amount of medication every day were analyzed by using the method of DDDs sequence and the method in pharmacoeconomics.Results The use of Chinese patent medicines in our hospital during 2004～2008 showed an rising trend,while the daily injection of Chinese patent medicines were expensive.Conclusions The utilization of Chinese patent medicines in our hospital is rational basically.The Chinese patent medicines with suitable prices and proved efficacy take a great share in the clinical medication.However,there are still some problems need to be standardized.
