Abstract
Objective To study the pathogenesis of the recurrence of tuberculum sellae meningioma after microsurgically total resection. Methods The dural tail was identified on MR images before operation. The tumor body and the dural infiltration of the meningioma which was recognized by microscope in operation were resected by simpson GradeⅡ, and then were confirmed by pathological study. Results The patients work and live normally after operation, there was no recurrence with a follow up period of six months to five years. Conclusions To resect the tumor and the dural infiltration of meningioma by Simpson GradeⅡ can prevent the recurrence of meningioma effectively .
