Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of protein P73 and P53 in gastric carcinoma and explore the correlation of P53 and P73. Methods Immunohistochemical staining was used to detect the expression of P73 and P53 protein in 40 cases of gastric carcinoma.Statistical analysis was performed according to clinicopathogical data. Results ⑴ The positive rates of expression of P73 and P53 protein in gastric carcinoma group were 62.5%(25/40)and 55.0%(22/40),respectively.Compared with normal gastric tissue group, chronic atrophic gastritis group and gastric ulcer group, the expression of P73 and P53 protein was significantly different in gastric carcinoma (P0.05). ⑵The positive rate of P73 protein expression in gastric carcinoma group had no correlation with the histological type, depth of invasion of gastric mucosa and lymph node metastases(P0.05),whereas P53 protein expression in gastric carcinoma group was correlated with clinicopathological status(P0.05). ⑶P73 expression was positively correlated with P53 expression in gastric carcinoma group(P0.05).Conclusion P73 has its tissue specificity, the expression of P73 and P53 is significantly related to pathological characteristics of gastric carcinoma and their biological behavior. Both P73 and P53 protein may participate in the development of gastric cancer.
