Abstract
Objective To investigate the expressions of P73 and P53 protein in gastric carcinoma and its clinical significance. Methods Immunohistochemical method(S-P method) was used to detect the expression of P73 and P53 protein in 92 cases of gastric carcinoma.A statistical analysis was applied to their clinicopathologic data. Results The corresponding positive rate of expression of P73 and P53 protein in gastric carcinoma were 75.0% and 65.2% respectively. It was markedly higher than that in chronic superficial gastritis.Compared with that in chronic superficial gastritis group, the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).There was no correlation between the expression of P73 protein in gastric carcinoma and their sex, age, position and size of tumor, degree of differentiation, depth of infiltration, lymph node metastases, metastasis,TNM stage(P0.05).There was correlation between the expression of P53 protein and the degree of differentiation, depth of infiltration, lymph node metastases, metastasis in gastric carcinoma(P0.05),and there was no correlation between the expression of P53 protein and the sex, age, position and size of tumor,TNM stage in gastric carcinoma(P0.05).Conclusion High expressions of P73 and P53 protein in gastric carcinoma may play an important role in the attack of gastric carcinoma.Maybe P53 is an important factor in the course of cancerous progression.
