Abstract

Objective To study the biological significance through the detection of the expression of P16 protein in pancreatic adenocarcinomas(PC).Methods P16 proteins were detected by SP immunohistochemical method in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded samples from 32 pancreatic adenocarcinomas(PC),12 normal pancreatic tissues which were confirmed pathologically as normal pancreatic tissue. Results Loss of p16 expression was higher in poorly-differentiated PC,there were significant differences(P0.05)between poorly-differentiated PC and well-differentiated PC and normal pancreatic tissue;and there were significant differences between middle-differentiated and normal pancreatic tissue(P0.05).Significant differences were found between the group with lymph node metatasis and the group without lymph node metatasis. Conclusion The expression of P16 might reflect the biological significance of PC.
