On the Protection and Utilization of Ancient Books in Public Libraries

The five thousand years of Chinese civilization gave birth to the profound Chinese culture.Ancient books which have been recording the Yellow Civilization have gone through thousands of disaster and are less and less.So,more attention should be paid on the Preservation of ancient books.However,this doesn't mean ancient books should be prevented from utilizing.Only in the utilization can ancient books realize its art value,the academic value,historical relic value and cultural value.The relationship between the preservation and utilization of ancient books likes the two sides of a knife.This paper fully analyzes the factors influencing the preservation and utilization of ancient books,and puts forward such measures as providing special ancient books room,ancient books reengineering and ancient books digitization to promote the protection and utilization of ancient books.
