Abstract

ObjectiveTo explore the clinical effective of B bi-level positive airway pressure ventilation(Bipap) in the treatment of respiratory failure resulting from acute exacerbation period of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD).MethodsThere were 40 elder patients with acute respiratory failure resulting from AECOPD in the group. The changes in the artery blood gas and vital signs were compared before and after the treatment.ResultsThe significant differences were found in the group,in which both PaO2 and pH values were found elevated, yet the value of RR,HR,PaCO2 were on the contrary(P0.001).ConclusionEarly applying bipap techniques in the therapy of patients with AECOPD is much useful to reduce the percentage of using interior bronchi cube, effectively elevate the values of PaO2 and pH,and reduce the value of PaCO2.
