Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical safety and efficiency of opening totally extraperitoneal hernioplasty(TEP).Methods The clinical materials of 52 cases of inguinal hernia undergoing opening TEP from May 2009 to September 2011 were retrospectively analysed. Results All patients were successfully cured.Operation time were 30 to 60 minutes(averages 40mins),and hospital stay were 3-7 days.Neither serious operative complications nor recurrence were seen at the follow-up 6 months to 2 years. Conclusion Opening TEP inguina l hern ia repair is worth to be popularized for it is less trauma, low cost, safe, easy to operate, low recurrence rate and less postoperative complications.
