Clinical observation on the results in treatment of cysticercosis

Objective To evaluate the optimal therapeutic model for treatment of cysticersosis. Methods The 1146 cerebral cysticercosis patients were treated with by six regimens of three kinds of drugs,including praziquantel,albendazole and Ganwusan(traditional Chinese medicine). Results Praziquantel was effective but with serious side effect in vivo,albendazole could slowly kill cysticercus in ccerevbral tissues without serious adverse reactions.The combination of 2 drugs was effective for killing cysticercus. Conclusion Increasing drug dose and elongating the course of treatment and combined with of drugs are the optimal model for treatment of cerebral cysticercosis.
