A study on the negative transfer of mother tongue in English writing for Chinese college students and its teaching countermeasures

Abstract

English writing is one of the weaknesses in English study for college students.The negative transfer of mother tongue is an important reason for hampering the development of their writing ability.An analysis of negative transfer at lexical,syntactic and contextual level as well as the countermeasures in the teaching activity is done in this paper,aiming to reduce the influence of negative transfer of mother tongue for Chinese students.
