Study on Quality of Life and Cost of Treatment for Depression With Sertraline,Fluoxetine and Paroxetine

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To compare the quality of life and cost of treatment for depression between using sertraline, fluox-etine and paroxetine.METHODS:Using randomized group sampling and double blind study,the quality of life evaluated by the life quality index and cost of treatment for depression with sertraline, fluoxetine or paroxetine were observed in 71 patients with depression.RESULTS: The quality of life was improved obviously with all above-mentioned three drugs.The quality of life before or after treatment was similar among 3 drugs observed. Cost of treatment for depression was similar among 3 drugs as well.CONCLUSION:Sertraline,fluoxetine and paroxetine were all well-established agents,with similar influence on quality of life and treatment cost.
