Abstract
Object To compare the quality of life and cost of treatment for depression with either sertraline, fluoxetine , and paroxetine. Methods Using randomized and double blind study, the quality of life evaluated by the index of quality of life and cost of treatment for depression with sertraline, fluoxetine, and paroxetine were observed in 71 cases with depression. Results The quality of life improved obviously all 3 drugs observed. The quality of life before or after treatment was similar among 3 drugs observed. Cost of treatment for depression was similar among 3 drugs. Conclusion Sertraline, fluoxetine , and paroxetine were all well established agents, similar change of quality of life and depression related treatment cost among all 3 drugs were observed.
