Abstract

Schema theory examines the role of background knowledge in the process of language comprehension.With a view to develope a further understanding of the nature of interpretation,this article explores the uge of schema theory in all aspects of interpretation.With a detailed analysis of schema theory,the idea is presented that the interpreter should focus on activating and building schema to increase both the quality and efficiency of interpretation.
