The diagnostic value of percutaneous CT-guided needle lung biopsy in pulmonary occupying lesions

Objective To investigate diagnostic value and safety of percutaneous CT-guided needle lung biopsy in pulmonary occupying lesions.Methods Fifty-six patients underwent chest CT before percutaneous needle biopsy to measure the size and depth of the lesion and to accurately localize it. Results The diagnosis was confirmed by needle biopsy in 53 patients (94.6%). The complications included mild pneumothorax (n=11),poulmonary bleeding (n=9) and small hemoptysis (n=5). All complications didn't represent the need for medical specific treatment. Conclusion Percutaneous CT-guided needle biopsy is a safe and effective means in the diagnosis of pulmonary occupying lesions.
