On Ye Sheng-tao′s Thought of Literary Education

As a writer,educator and the leader in education circles,Ye Sheng-tao′s thought of literary education is the result of the mergence of his theory of literature and education.This paper illuminates it from three aspects: first,total location.Ye Shengtao points out that literary education is one part of Chinese education which is one part of education,so it must follow the general principle and law;second,the curriculum design.He emphasizes that the teaching material should fit to the situation of the student and can meet their demands.On the teaching content,he takes the notion,feeling and the grammar,language into account;finally,teaching method.Ye Shengtao thought literary education ought to teach students learn by themselves,analyze and experience the work but it is not necessary for them to write literary works.Ye Shengtao′s thought of literary education has its special characteristic and is significant to today′s education.
