Abstract
Objective To study the roles of Hp infection and expression of Cyclin D1 and p16 in the development of gastric cancer and their correlations. Methods Special staining and immunohistochemistry were used to examine paraffin imbedded specimens of different gastric mucosal lesions and normal gastric mucous membrane. Results 1.The expression of Cyclin D1 and Hp infection increased progressively in order of normal mucosa, chronic superficial gastritis, chronic atrophic gastritis,a typical hyperplasia and gastric cancer, while the expression of p16 decreased progressively in this order. The Hp infection presented significant difference between normal mucosa and atrophic gastritis(P0.001),and between superficial gastritis and gastric cancer(P0.005).The expression of CyclinD1 in superficial gastritis and a typical hyperplasia had significant difference(P0.005).The expression of p16 in normal mucosa and gastric cancer had significant difference(P0.005).2.Among the 55 gastric cancers, the Cyclin D1 positive rate in Hp positive group was higher than that in Hp negative one(P0.01).The p16 positive rate in Hp positive group was lower than that in Hp negative one(P0.05).The p16 positive rate in Cyclin D1 positive group was lower than that in cyclin D1 negative one(P0.05).Conclusions The development of gastric cancer is influenced by Hp,Cyclin D1and p16 and their mutual effects.
