Abstract

Colors exist in this world,and they share the same physical properties in different cultures.But their symbolic meanings in different languages are not always the same.Redandwhiteare the main colors favored in both Chinese culture and English culture,and they have the same and different symbolic meanings in both cultures.This paper analyzes the similarities and differences of their symbolic meanings and explores some hidden cultural factors so that we can have a better understanding of color words.
