Abstract
In this paper, chestnut shell was extracted with ethanol solution, and wool fabrics were dyed with the extract. The influence of extraction temperature, time, the mass ratio between solid and solvent and ethanol solution were studied with orthogonal tests. The resulted extracting conditions are as followed, the extraction temperature is 80℃,the extraction time is 120min,the mass ratio between solid and solvent is 1∶50(w/w),and the solvent is 25% ethanol solution. At the same time, the mordant dyeing methods and processes were discussed and the color characteristic value with different mordant(alum, ferrous, cuprum, citric acid, tartaric acid, etc) was tested. The purposes of the study are to develop a new type of natural brown dyestuff and to promote plantation and processing of chestnut.
