Observation of effect of acupuncture point massage combined with traditional Chinese medicine foot massage on patients with diabetic peripheral neuropthy

Objective To explore the effect of acupuncture point massage combined with traditional Chinese medicine foot massage on patients with diabetic peripheral neuropthy. Methods 70 patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy in our department were collected,and were randomly divided into observation group(35 cases) and control group(35 cases).The control group was given diabetes self-management,the observation group on the basis of the control group was given acupuncture point massage combined with Chinese medicine foot massage.The clinical symptom improving effect of observation group were evaluated before intervention and at the end of 3 months of intervention using nimodipine method;and compared with the control group to analyze the the effect of acupuncture point massage combined with traditional Chinese medicine foot massage on patients with diabetic peripheral neuropthy. Results The total efficiency in observation group(94.29%) was higher than 80.00% in control group,the difference was significant between two groups(P 0.05).The clinical symptom score of limb pain,cold extremities,soft limb weakness, sensory loss, limb numbness, muscle atrophy soft after acupuncture point massage combined with traditional Chinese medicine foot massage were decreased compared with before intervention,the difference was statistically significant(P 0.05). Conclusion Acupuncture point massage combined with traditional Chinese medicine foot massage can effectively improve the clinical symptoms in patients with diabetic peripheral neuropthy,and is worthy of popularization and application.
