Abstract

Objective:To investigate the effects of improved gastric lavage with perfusion of activated charcoal for treating acute severe organophosphorous pesticide poisoning(AOPP).Methods:Patients with AOPP were randomly divided into two groups:treatment and control groups. The treatment group was given improved gastric lavage with perfusion of activated charcoal on the basis of routine medical treatment, while control group received only routine medical treatment. Results:Toltal atropine usage was decreases, both coma time and hospitalization days were shortened remarkably, and healing rate increased. Conclusion:Improved gastric lavage with perfusion of activated charcoal on the basis of routine medical treatment can increase healing rate of the patients with AOPP.
