Abstract
Benzyl-4-piperidones, one of the important mid-body of OPC-21268, was synthesized from benzylamine and methyl acrylate. Process of every reaction was optimized, and the best condition of reaction was defined. The total yield of three reactions was 74.5%, which was 14.5% more than the yield reported in literature. The new process was fit to industry production for its easy method and low costs.
